Womens Calendar Changes
	September 27th 2013           The UCI has released the Women's Calendar for 2013 and with is comes a number of changes. You can view the full calendar here and the World Cup here. The Women's World Cup expands to nine races. The eight existing races remain with the Sparkassen Giro added. On the general women's calendar a number of new races have been added or return. The season starts with the new Tour Femenino de San Luis held from the 14th to 18th January in Argentina. The Women’s Tour of New Zealand does not return after being cancelled for 2013. In 2012 a women's version of Gent-Wevelgem was held as a national event. This year it has been upgraded to UCI status with a 1.2 rating. The bad news is it continues to clash with the Trofeo Alfredo Binda World Cup, both will be held on the March 30 2014. GP Comune di Cornaredo (ITA) and GP Liberazione (ITA) both return to the calendar after an absence. Ronde van Overijssel (NED) is a new race and Grand Prix de Plumelec-Morbihan Dames (FRA) has been upgraded to a UCI rated race. Trofee Maarten Wynants (BEL) also joins the calendar. In North America Winston Salem Cycling Classic (upgraded) in the United States and White Spot / Delta Road Race in Canada join the calendar. The White Spot / Delta Road Race is held during the Giro Rosa. The Ster Zeeuwsche Eilanden returns after it was not held in 2013 due to financial reasons. Two new stage races join the calendar. The Women's Tour (Women's Tour of Britain) has been awarded 2.1 ranking and will be held between the 7th and 11th of May and the BeNe Ladies Tour in the Netherlands over the 19th and 20th of July. Auensteiner-Radsporttage has been held in the past but has been given a UCI rating for 2014. Two races that attracted controversy in 2013 are not on the calendar for 2014. The Tour Languedoc Roussillon that was cancelled the day before it was to start before being on again but a day late and the Premondiale Giro Toscana that had serious safety problems and saw the top teams refuse to start the final stage.
