The Route

The race starts with five laps of a large 13.9km circuit. Starting with a descent before a small rise in the middle of the stage before a steep ascent to the start finish line. The race concludes with five laps of a shorter circuit that covers a lot of the same roads as the larger laps. The opening descent and finish are the same it skips the middle part giving the field even less time to recover.

The Contenders

Audrey Cordon and Mayuko Hagiwara

The defending champion who won a two up sprint ahead of teammate Elisa Longo Borghini. Last year the duo both wore Hitec colours but this year they are again on the same team in that of Wiggle Honda. Climbs well and still packs a strong finish from a select group. Wiggle won the opening race of the weekend and will be looking to add another.

Japanese Champion Mayuko Hagiwara is another rider to keep a close eye on. Climbs very well and will no doubt be looking to get up the road to take the pressure off some of the teams faster finishers.

Charlotte Bravard

Charlotte Bravard rounded out the podium in 2014 finishing just over two minutes behind the Hitec duo. The French team will be looking to get a win after missing out at La Classique Morbihan. Proved she can handle the route last year but was unable to match the stronger Hitec team.

Sheyla Gutierrez

The 21 year old has been consistent throughout the early season classics. Has finished top 10 at Omloop van het Hageland, Cholet Pays de Loire Dames and La Classique Morbihan yesterday.

Other names to watch: Aude Biannic and Amelie Rivat and Marion Sicot.
