14 of the World's top women's teams will line up at the
opening UCI women's race of 2019, the Santos Women's Tour Down
Under, January 10-13 in Adelaide.
Defending Champion Amanda Spratt is set to return with
Mitchelton-SCOTT, which finished the 2018 season ranked second
in the world, less than two points behind Boels-Dolmans.
"We have seen this race grow from strength to strength over
the last three editions and I am really excited about the
line-up we have secured for the 2019 race," said race director
Kimberley Conte.
"We will see CCC, Trek Segafredo and the Astana Women's Team
all compete in the Santos Women's Tour Down Under for the
first time, adding a new element of competition to the mix."
Other UCI teams joining Mitchelton-SCOTT is the CCC squad of
Marianne Vos, the new Trek Segafredo, three Italian teams Ale
Cipollini, Astana Women's Team and BePink, the United States
Team Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank and Rally Cycling and Doltcini
Van Eyck of Belgium.
The UniSA Australian National Team and Vantage New Zealand
National Team will see some of Australia and New Zealand's
best up and coming talent in action in an important
development opportunity.
Completing the entries is Australian domestic teams Gusto
StepFWD KOM, Specialized Women's Racing and Sydney University.
